Frequently Asked Questions

Are your soaps natural?

Natural is a broad term so we will break it down...
The definition of natural is anything that comes from a plant, a vegetable, fruit, minerals like clay or an animal by-product i.e.. Honey, Milk, then it is a natural product.

Our current soap collection Moments, is made using plant derived ingredients, it is Vegan. This includes essential oils and the colourants we use are extracted from plants in some form.

Can I buy soap without lye?

In short yes - but all soap is made using lye.

Lye is a chemical but its required to make soap...soap! It works as a catalyst to turn oil into a type of salt.  Soap is created when lye bonds with the oils, we call this saponification to which after essential oils and colourants are added to give it scent and colour. All After pouring into moulds and left for a period of 4 weeks, the lye and water used to make the soap should have evaporated, leaving a lovely bar of soap for you to use.

My bar of soap has white powder on it, is it safe?

This is called Soda Ash and it is an aesthetic property. It might not look very attractive - some people think it adds to its overall appearance. It is nothing to worry about and will not affect the effectiveness of your soap, it also easily washes off. This generally happens when the soap has been exposed to the air during curing.

Do you ship internationally?

At this time - we can only ship to UK customers, we do however plan on shipping to the EU and internationally soon so please keep on the look out!
